A Day in Capri
We took a day to ferry over to the island of Capri. This rugged island is four square miles and renowned for upscale shopping and boutique hotels.
We took a boat tour around the island to admire the many caves, grottos, private homes and rock formations. The famous Blue Grotto is virtually inaccessible due to the number of tourists trying to access it.
However, there are many other caves that have similar deep blue water, and the photos are no exaggeration.
Capri did play a defensive role during WW2, first against the British and then against the Germans. You can see bunkers camouflaged by the rock that were from that era as well as from previous centuries.
Absolutely stunning!
