Expanding our Language Skills Cut by Cut
It's been hot and muggy here. My hair had grown exponentially (last cut was in August), and the frizzy droop was out of control. I couldn't wait til November. So, I headed to the salon across the street from the apartment with a photo of an older woman's short, short pixie cut and a prayer. All went well, and I learned a lot of salon vocabulary with the help of some lovely people. My shampoo was done in a massage chair (so relaxing), the cut feels so much better, and it only cost me 25 euros...roughly $27.
Jack began to develop a small cyst on his leg shortly after leaving the country. It, too, started growing exponentially as his pant leg irritated it, and it began to hurt. He decided to get it looked at, and so off to the local doc we went. Again, lovely people, very kind and helpful, and we learned a lot of new vocab. The dermatologist took the cyst off, and Jack already feels 100 times better. He's even scheduled a follow up in Santa Fe.
We wanted authentic language experiences and this week we really got them.
Wow! You sure did!
