Margaret was a bit catatonic after seeing the weather report of rain for the next two weeks. But the Travel Gods blessed us today with unexpected fabulous weather.
Prima italiano...poi inglese Siamo a Bari! Siamo andati in treno. Abbiamo visto molte colline, molti flussi ed ulivi, e graziose fattorie piccole. Abbiamo visto anche vigneti pieni di uva. Il cibo qui è incredibile! È così fresco e delizioso e molto colorato. We're in Bari! We went by train, viewing many small hills, streams, olive trees and lovely small farms. We also saw vineyards full of grapes. The food here is incredible! It is so fresh and delicious, and also very colorful. More about our stay in Bari in a few days.

We said goodbye to Mt Vesuvias and took the train up to Rome. We are staying in a small apartment in a residential area near the Vatican. We wanted a day in the city just to wander, people watch and shop. We took a rather crowded bus to Piazzia Venezia, had lunch in Piazza Navona and eventually decided to walk the 5k back to the apartment. These photos are scenes from our fabulous stroll.....
